About Elk River Group, LLC

Dan is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Elk River Group, LLC. 

He brings a strong foundation as an Airline Transport Pilot, former FAA Authorized Airbus Check Airman and Captain at Delta Air Lines, Inc., having flown over 14,000 accident and incident free hours. He is type-rated on numerous transport category aircraft (Boeing 737, 757, 767, 717, Airbus 319, 320, 321, CE-650, BE-400, and MU-300), as well as flown a multitude of general aviation turbojet, turboprop, and piston aircraft. He has instructed and supervised hundreds of military and civilian pilots of all ranks and all types of aircraft, including aviators of both the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, as well as pilots of Air Force One, Air Force Two, and Marine One. He was awarded "Best Captain at Delta Air Lines" Peer Recognition Award in 2023 and the "Delta Air Lines Academic and Leadership Scholarship" Award in 2012. 

Dan is a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Intelligence Community and former private investigator. In addition, in 2015, he was the first commercial Airline Transport Pilot awarded the FAA Section 333 Authorization for Commercial UAS Operations, as well as a Part 107 UAS pilot. Dan was also a member of the Air Line Pilots Association Security Committee involved in sensitive aviation security investigations and promoting worldwide aviation security. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Aviation Lawyers Association and is fluent in Brazilian Portuguese. 

Dan's diverse background in aviation (FARs 121, 135, and 91) and intelligence allows him to conduct thorough aviation-related investigations and provide expert subject matter and testimony consultations, enhancing our clients' trust and satisfaction.
